Showing our Colours! Adelphi supports the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity on World Cerebal Palsy Day
October 20, 2023
Friday 6th October 2023 was World Cerebal Palsy Day, and HHBA member Adelphi invited their team to wear green and make a donation, to support their charity partner of the year, the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity (DVLCC).
DVLCC are a Cuckfield-based charity, supporting children under 5 with Cerebral Palsy and other motor learning impairments realise full their potential.
Adelphi colleagues have been hosting and participating in events throughout 2023, to raise money and awareness for this vital cause. Events have included the famous Adelphi Bake-Off, a skydive, a BBQ, Jail & Bail, and more – the next, a murder mystery night, is forthcoming in November! The team has already exceeded their fundraising target of £2,500, with two months to go!
Supporting a charity partner of the year can bring about a multitude of benefits for both businesses and communities:
- Strengthens corporate social responsibility, demonstrating a company’s commitment to making a positive impact beyond profits.
- Fosters a sense of pride and purpose among employees, boosting morale and team spirit.
- Leads to meaningful community engagement, enabling organizations to address important social issues, contribute to local development, and empower disadvantaged individuals.
The Adelphi Charity Committee selects the business’ partner of the year from a pool of suggestions made my colleagues. Many of these are submitted due to a personal connection with a team member. Charity Committee member Emily Salmon shares that she is “delighted with this year’s participation and results for such a worthy cause”, and is pleased to reveal that the 2024 charity partner of the year will be The Sussex Heart Charity!
“For over three decades, The Sussex Heart Charity have been dedicated to providing unwavering support to heart patients throughout Sussex. Since their establishment in 1987, their core mission has been to bring about positive changes in all aspects of cardiac care. They are passionate about creating patient-friendly information to empower individuals and set new care standards, to elevate the quality of healthcare provided.
Ultimately, the social, emotional, and reputational benefits of supporting a charity partner of the year are invaluable, creating a positive ripple effect that extends far beyond the immediate community. Adelphi are proud to be supporting local causes in this manner”.
